Exploding Heads Watch Revisited
Not everyone was overjoyed with Obama’s victory on Tuesday, of course. In one of the towns I canvassed on Election Day, Kingston, PA, one man had a novel way of expressing his displeasure:
A 70-year old man was charged earlier today with biting the nose of another man because police said he was upset that Barack Obama won the presidency.
Alexander J. McKenna, of South Landon Avenue, was charged with three counts each of simple assault and harassment, and one count of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. He was released on $2,500 unsecured bail.
Lest you be too quick to condemn Mr. McKenna’s actions as reprehensible or even criminal, commenter robomad chimes in to remind us that nose-biting is apparently a form of political speech and implicitly protected by the First Amendment:
I don’t believe that this is the first and only instance of a bar-fight over some political issue or other. I’m only surprised that there hasn’t been more. But, to go to jail for expressing your political views?
Alex McKenna, the first political prisoner under the Obama regime!
