Getting Involved In Local Politics

Monday, November 17th, 2008

I’ve signed on to be the canvassing chief for Hal Phillips’ campaign for City Council in the 26th district.  I’m very excited and look forward to helping Hal and getting my feet wet (soaked) in local politics.  I have plenty of work ahead of me and no doubt I’ll have lots to blog about.

Brush With Greatness

Reformers I Know

Monday, October 20th, 2008

My friend Hal Phillips has just announced he will be running next year to represent the 26th district on the New York City Council.  He’ll be running as an independent with a platform centered around bringing IRV to local elections.  Since I support IRV and since all of my recent volunteering for the Obama campaign has given me a taste for politics, I suspect that I will be lending him a helping hand in the coming year.  If nothing else, it will give me a subject to blog about that isn’t already covered ad nauseam by all the prominent lefty blogs.
